Excursion

We are arranging half-day tours to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and to the Living Desert Museum Zoo Gardens for the mornig of Friday, June 1 (tours will depart/return from the hotel between 7:30 am - 1:30 pm)

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

The Palm Springs Aerial tramway takes one to the top of the San Jacinto Mountain where there are very nice trails for a short (less than two hours allowed) hike in cool weather (temperatures at the top are typically 30-40 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than at the bottom), as well as stunning views and a couple of different restaurants. The tramway ascent is nearly 6000 vertical feet ending at 8,516 feet. The elevation can lead to a change in temperature so a very warm day at the base can become cool at the top. if you hike – one will be able to squeeze in a two-hour hike before having to return to Hyatt – a bit of sunscreen may be helpful too. The price for this tour is $45 per person and includes roundtrip transportation and a ticket to ride the gondola up/down the mountain. Pines Cafe at the top sells “grab and go” sandwitches, so with proper timing, you can pick up some food for the return bus trip to Hyatt. More information on San Jacinto Mountain can be found here and on the traway here

Living Desert Museum Zoo Gardens

The Living Desert Museum Zoo Gardens tour stops at every major exhibit, and your personal tour guide will lead you throughout the park, weaving animal facts, park history, and more into a fun and engaging safari that will be remembered for a lifetime.
