About

Aviral Prakash earned his PhD at the Pennsylvania State University in 2024, working with Prof. David Radice. He is expected to start his N3AS fellowship in the Fall semester of 2024 with Prof. Francois Foucart at the University of New Hampshire.

Aviral’s research involves numerical relativity simulations of mergers of neutron stars. A central theme of his research has been investigating the potential occurrence of QCD phase transitions in such mergers. Through this fellowship, he plans to diversify into radiation transport, magnetohydrodynamics and numerical methods relevant to mergers of neutron stars and other high energy astrophysical phenomena.
