Sherwood was a N3AS Fellow from 2017-2020, spending the first two years of his appointment at North Carolina State University and the third at UC Berkeley. He continued at Berkeley and in N3AS as an NSF Astronomy and Astrophysics Fellow for two additional years. He is currently Assistant Professor in theoretical astrophysics in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Tennessee.

Sherwood’s research is focused on numerical methods of neutrino transport and neutrino flavor transformation in core-collapse supernovae and neutron star mergers.
